Daily Meditation, July 26th

Every impulse is a movement of God directed to accomplish a certain purpose, which is seldom intelligible and often beyond human comprehension. Every impulse that breaks out uncontrolled results in an accident and reacts seriously. Every impulse is a power in itself, and every time the will withdraws an impulse, the will is charged with a new strength and life, which makes the self-mastered man master of all. The process of alchemy is to control these expressions without killing them. There is a difference between controlling and killing. By controlling one possesses power without allowing it to express itself, but by killing one loses it.
